We want to reassure you that your privacy and security are of the utmost importance to us.
Please be aware that we do not retain or have any access to your personal information or NHLS data. Your login credentials and password are securely stored only on your own device, ensuring that no one else can use or access them.
Our app functions as a convenient gateway to access your NHLS account, much like a web browser, and it is designed with your convenience and security in mind. Thank you for trusting us with your access needs.
1. Introduction
LabWiZ ("the Application", "we", "us", or "our") is an independently developed web application designed to provide healthcare professionals with convenient access to NHLS (National Health Laboratory Service) lab results through the TrakCare system. This application is intended solely for authorised healthcare workers who have valid NHLS TrakCare credentials.
Important: By using LabWiZ, you acknowledge and agree to these terms and conditions. If you do not agree, you must immediately discontinue use of this application.
2. Scope and Intended Use
LabWiZ:
- Provides a modern, user-friendly interface for accessing NHLS lab results;
- Connects directly to NHLS TrakCare servers using your existing credentials;
- Displays lab results with enhanced visualisation and trend analysis features;
- Is strictly intended for use by authorised healthcare professionals with valid NHLS TrakCare access.
LabWiZ is a convenience interface only and is not a standalone laboratory information system.
3. No Data Storage or Retention
Zero Data Storage Policy
LabWiZ operates with a strict zero data storage policy. We do not store, log, transmit to external servers, or otherwise retain any patient information.
We do not store, log, or retain any of the following:
- Patient data (including names, folder numbers, demographics, or lab results);
- Laboratory test results, trends, or historical data;
- User credentials, login information, or authentication tokens;
- Usage logs, search history, or user interactions.
All data displayed in LabWiZ is fetched in real-time directly from NHLS TrakCare servers and is temporarily stored only in your browser's memory during your active session. When you close the application or log out, all data is immediately cleared from your device.
At no point is patient-identifiable or sensitive medical information stored on our servers, databases, or any external storage systems.
4. Authentication and Security
- Your NHLS TrakCare credentials are transmitted securely and directly to NHLS servers only. We never intercept, read, store, or use these credentials for any other purpose.
- Authentication tokens are stored only in your browser's local memory and are automatically cleared when you log out or close the application.
- All communications are encrypted using HTTPS and transmitted directly to NHLS domains.
- Your credentials and data remain under your complete control and are stored only on your own device.
We implement industry-standard security practices but are not responsible for any security issues that originate from NHLS systems or your local device environment.
5. No Clinical Decision Support
LabWiZ does not:
- Provide clinical decision support or diagnostic recommendations;
- Validate or verify the accuracy of lab results;
- Check for critical values, reference range violations, or result anomalies;
- Guarantee completeness, timeliness, or accuracy of the data displayed.
All information presented is sourced directly from NHLS TrakCare and should be interpreted according to your clinical judgment and organisational protocols. We accept no liability for clinical decisions, patient outcomes, or any consequences resulting from the use of this application.
6. No Affiliation or Endorsement
LabWiZ is developed and maintained by Ashraf Moosa. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or developed in partnership with:
- The National Health Laboratory Service (NHLS);
- Any provincial or national Department of Health;
- TrakCare or any of its vendors, partners, or affiliates;
- Any healthcare institution or organisation.
All trademarks and data accessed through this application belong to their respective owners. Your use of NHLS TrakCare data is governed by your organisation's agreement with NHLS.
7. Compliance with Privacy and Health Laws
You, the user, are solely responsible for ensuring your use of LabWiZ complies with:
- The Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA);
- The National Health Act;
- Your organisation's IT governance, data security, and privacy policies;
- All applicable professional, institutional, and regulatory requirements.
We provide LabWiZ as a convenience tool and take no responsibility for any unauthorised or inappropriate access to patient information.
8. Service Availability and Limitations
LabWiZ:
- Is provided free of charge as a convenience tool for healthcare professionals;
- May become unavailable if NHLS TrakCare changes its systems or access methods;
- Does not come with warranties, guarantees, or formal technical support;
- May be updated, modified, or discontinued without prior notice.
We cannot guarantee uninterrupted service, compatibility with all devices, or support for all browsers.
9. User Responsibilities and Consent
By using LabWiZ, you:
- Agree to and accept all terms and conditions outlined in this document;
- Accept full responsibility for your access to and use of NHLS data;
- Confirm that you are an authorised healthcare professional with legitimate access to NHLS TrakCare;
- Agree to indemnify us from any claims, liabilities, losses, or damages resulting from your use of the application.
